2018 Fall Ball ProgramUpdated Friday August 31, 2018 by Kanata Baseball Association.
*** REGISTRATION CLOSED. Use the Contact Us to waitlist for your age ***
The purpose of the Fall program is to give our players a head start on next year and to extend the playing season while the weather is nice with a focus on devleopment. This is also a chance to bring players together that were in different programs and teams over the regular season. Fall Ball is 5 weeks starting in September and ending by Thanksgiving, October 9th.
** Includes a September Kanata Cubhouse membership! **
The age groupings will depend on registration, but the following age groups are planned. The actual divisions will be adjusted based on the registration numbers. The structure will to be to advance the format for players (eg: leadoffs and pickoffs for 12U players)
There are no prerequisites to Fall Ball - players may have played Little League, Baseball Ontario, or similar games like Softball. However, Kanata Fall Ball is not an entry level program - we expect that all participants have played ball before and are looking to extend or add to their season.
There are four components to the Kanata Fall Ball program:
Practices: One outdoor on field practice will be scheduled per week. This will be a combined clinic style practice for those divisions with 2 teams of players to improve our ability to provide instruction. Rained out practices will not be re-scheduled.
Cubhouse Training: Traning sessions will be held at the Kanata Cubhouse. These will be focused on improvinging the individual player with a training routine overseen by our Player Development Director Tyler Roth. Players are encouraged to attend twice per week during the week in flexible timeslots..
League Games: Players will play one league game a week on the weekends during the day. These will be in Kanata or may be elsewhere in Ottawa. Rained out games may or mayl not be re-scheduled.
Tournaments (optional): Kanata hosts one tournament in September which players are encouraged to attend if their schedules allow but only at the 12U and 14U levels. There may be an opportunity to travel to Montreal for a tournament if there is desire from an age group to do so. Tournament participation fee is $40.
Caps: Players should wear a cubs cap provided from their Rep or Interlock team. If you don't have one already then they are available for $25 from the league.
Pants: Players must wear baseball pants when outdoors. Our colours are Red, Royal and White so white baseball pants are preferred.
Jerseys: Will be provided as needed.
We are not requiring hoodies as part of the fee. If you would like one, please visit our Entripy Shop http://kba.entripyshops.com/mens-hoodies-sweats
The Fall Ball early bird fee for weekly practice, cubhouse trianing and game is $125. Progarms may fill up so register early! As of August 24th registration is late, the price goes up to $155 and programs may be closed.
Optional Tournament entrance fee (including our home tournamnet) will be based on the cost of the individual tournament (approx $40/player).
