Summer Rookie House

Updated Friday January 18, 2019 by Kanata Baseball Association.

The Summer Rookie House Program is KBA's recreational summer program for players interested in extending the baseball season.  Players of all levels of ability born 2012 - 2010 are eligible, regardless of enrollment in our spring programs.  Teams play coach-pitch games, twice a week, Monday to Thursday, against other house teams within the Kanata urban boundary.

Players looking for a more-competitive summer program, are encouraged to register for the Summer Rookie Interlock Program.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact James Moser.

Season  Summer (July - August)

What to Expect

Registration will open in early-June.  Balanced teams are formed based on available spring evaluation scores, coach feedback, and age.  Teams are announced before June 30.

The season begins the 2nd week of July with two team practices.  Teams then play 10-12 games, meeting twice a week, Monday to Thursday.  All games are held within the Kanata urban boundary and are typically at the same 2 diamonds all year.

All games are proper 6-inning coach-pitch baseball games following rules similar to those of the Little League District 2 Nationals Division.  The environment is fun, casual, and supportive and is suitable for players of all abilities.  Our summer house program is the time of season for players to just get out play ball and be kids.  Scores and standings are kept, but this is just to seed teams for the playoffs.  All teams partiicpate in a playoff tournament in mid-August.
