Heat Warning Guidelines

Updated Friday July 5, 2019 by Kanata Baseball Association.

We are experiencing an unusually HOT and HUMID weather period.  Please take every precaution to protect your players in the summer heat.

If the coaches feel that a game should not be played based on a heat warning putting their players at risk, then the coaches should contact each other and send out a message before 4pm.  Be pragmatic and respectful of your opponent and their wishes in this regard.

If the umpires feel that the conditions are unsafe for themselves or the participants to continue a game then they can postpone the game at any time after taking control.  If the umpires do take this action then teams must leave the field and may NOT continue the game without an umpire and may NOT continue as a practice.

Coaches should consider cancelling or delaying practices to 7pm.

Please refer to the following resources for baseball heat safety.  Let’s be safe out there.
